HLISB partners with PPZ-MAIWP for easy online payment

17 December 2008, Kuala Lumpur - Hong Leong Islamic Bank (HLISB) and Pusat Pungutan Zakat Majlis Agama Islam Wilayah Persekutuan (PPZ-MAIWP) today signed an agreement for online zakat services. Effective today, customers of HLISB and Hong Leong Bank (HLB) can pay their zakat via Hong Leong Online Internet Banking . This is the first collaboration between PPZ-MAIWP and HLISB.

"In understanding and anticipating the needs and wants of our customers, we at HLISB have developed a secure method of payment designed with the customers' convenience in mind," said En Jasani Abdullah, General Manager of Hong Leong Islamic Bank.

"This online zakat payment service is in line with PPZ's efforts to enhance service delivery through ICT. We in HLISB are honored by this privilege to partner with PPZ-MAIWP and we are equally happy to be able to extend a new service to our customers," emphasized En Jasani.

For his part, Dato' Haji Mustafa bin Abdul Rahman, Chairman of PPZ-MAIWP had this to say, "Zakat is one of the five Islamic Pillars and is compulsory for all Muslims. We want zakat payment to be as convenient, effortless and secure as possible. By partnering with HLISB, we are assured that the payments will be handled efficiently."

Leveraging on Hong Leong Bank's Hong Leong Online Internet Banking platform, HLISB customers will now be able to pay their zakat with just a few easy clicks on their computer.
