Position
Assistant Manager, Shariah Compliance
Responsibilities
To enable effective Shariah Compliance on a bank-wide basis to ensure the bank's products, policies, procedures and systems are Shariah compliant.
To provide independent assurance to the Shariah Advisory Committee (SAC) on the effectiveness of controls in the above areas to be in line with Shariah restriction.
Also be responsible to perform research and establish Shariah standards for bank-wide adoption, to conduct review and testing for Shariah compliance with regards to HLISB head office operations, branches, centres etc.
Requirements
· A recognized diploma / degree in banking, finance, Shariah, business, economics, law, accounting or any other related fields. Having a recognized certificate relating to Islamic banking / jurisprudence would be an advantage.
Minimum 1-2 years experience in banking industry or related areas, preferably in operation of Islamic banking. Those without the required qualification but with relevant working experience of between 3 - 4 years in relevant areas would also be considered.
Proficient in verbal and written English and PC literate.
Independent and able to work in a team.
Initiative, posses the passion for critical analysis and willing to take on challenges.
